The images you see on this site are a good cross section of the beautiful scenery in the state of Colorado. Every major activity town has opportunities for second home purchases from luxury homes to vacation condos to hunting cabins. We also have lots of beautiful home sites to build your dream getaway. Our state has as great a selection of cities and towns in which to relocate on a permanent basis as well.

Colorado Lodging

We don't sell postcards on this site, but you will no doubt find your share of great cards at the many fine hotels and Resorts across the state. Our most popular lodging option may well be the Bed and Breakfast Inns run by local families. Bed and Breakfasts will give you the most cozy stay, personal tourism guidance from locals, and a good taste of local cooking as well. Vacation Condominium rentals are easily found as well. Search the internet for vaction condos in Colorado and you will spend hours sorting the options.

You can rent just about anything -- by the year, month, week, or night. Beautiful luxury homes in Aspen, Vail and Telluride, ski condos in Breckenridge, Steamboat Springs, and Crested Butte, Resort accommodations in Beaver Creek, Mountain Village, and Snowmass. Quaint Bed and Breakfast Inns in Ouray, Estes Park, and Salida. Fine hotels in Denver, Boulder, Colorado Springs, and Grand Junction. And Historic hotels in Redstone, Cripple Creek, Durango, and Silverton.

Colorado Recreation

The activities across the Colorado include biking, downhill skiing, cross country skiing, snow shoeing, snowmobiling, river rafting, golfing or on a site seeing vacation, you will have a varied selection of hotels, resorts, bed and breakfast inns, rustic cabins, and ordinary inexpensive motels. For laid back people, we also have great historic tours, calm mountain lakes on which to canoe, short day-hikes, safe wildlife viewing, gambling, national park visits and mountain drives.

Geographic Regions

Colorado is comprised of 4 major vertical areas going from east to west: the eastern plains; the "Front Range" near the eastern foothills of the rocky mountains; the mountains, which include the continental divide as well as a scattering of 14,000 foot peaks across the entire center of the state; and the West Slope, which includes desert areas.

By far the most popular tourist and second home ownerships are in the parts of the state with Aspen forests. Aspen viewing is a popular autumn activity in Colorado, especially beautiful when contrasted against the snow capped peaks in the southwest mountain areas of the San Juan mountains near Telluride and Ouray. The Sneffels range is located here, as well as the "Million Dollar Highway"— US 550. All the well known towns are national historic districts.

Most of Colorado's ski resorts are scattered from north to south along the continental divide. Summit County is known as "Colorado's Playground", with mostly resort style accomodations and large second homes in Breckenridge. Living in Frisco or Silverthorne provides easy access to the "playground". Winter Park just southwest of Rocky Mountain National Park has a ski area is open year around. When the snow melts, the ski lifts are used to bring mountain bikers up to trails that traverse the mountain, and a alpine slide that resembles a bobsled run. Opportunities here are mainly ski condos.

The popular ski towns of Vail, and Aspen are located just about in the center of the state. The real estate in Aspen is very exclusive, with few building opportunities left, but the towns of Basalt has some opportunity. Avon, and Eagle are close to Vail, and are more affordable, but mainly all three are restricted to Condo purchases or rentals. For a more 'small town' experience, but with great skiing, try Crested Butte. It's a little harder to get to, but worth it if you want to get away from the jet set. You can still buy tracts of land to build your dream golf or ski vacation home here. The wildflowers are incredible in the summer.

The west slope from Dinosaur National Park in the northwest corner across the vineyard regions around Grand Junction to the Anasazi Country in southwest Colorado where you will find Mesa Verde National Park. This is wine making country on the west slope. Accomodations here are not as plentiful as the more touristy areas.

Close to Rocky Mountain National Park, just an hour north of Denver, sits Estes Park a summer destination. On the west side of the park you will find Grand Lake, another popular summer vacation place. Artful living is plentiful, with primarily bed and breakfasts in Estes Park and hotels and cabin rentals in Grand Lake, and the galleries in both towns are easy walking distance. Elk viewing is incredibly popular in the park.

A few hundred miles to the west lays "Ski Town, USA", Steamboat Springs. If you want to experience real Colorado snow skiing, head to Steamboat Springs. But the area also is an outdoorsman's heaven for fishing and hunting around the Yampa River. You will find resort hotels, vacation condos are the mainstay for lodging here.

South of Gunnison, in the southern portion of the state you will be surprised by rich agricultural lands, the tallest sand dunes in the nation, hot springs, and even some snow skiing at Wolf Creek Pass. Durango and Pagosa Springs and Alamosa are three of the major towns. The Sangre De Cristo mountains are all the more majestic because of the stark contrast of the high plains from which they spring. Hotels and condos are the primary opportunities here.
